How does one open the tow hook covers?

I was wondering if any of you guys know how to open the tow hook covers. I have the BMW bike rack that screws into the tow hooks in the bumper but I cannot find how to open these things. I read the manual and it says to push on the triangles on the covers but I have tried this multiple times and it just seems to push the entire cover in and not open the top? Any suggestions would be appreciated... Thanks

A quick pop on the triangle (with something plastic) usually works.

Its as you described. Press the triangle which will pivot the cover enough to pull it out.

Have a good sit down with your bumper, let it know you understand its needs and ask it to understand your needs. Should work fine.

Alternatively, just kick hard with your foot. Should work - the bumper covers are always the first ones to fly off during collisions...

This is another solid option!

OP, check the reply I gave you to your similar inquiry on that "other BMW forum".
