Thanks for the reply. Was your Dinan dealer also a BMW dealer? How was the customer service?

Given the very, very small population of Dinan Tune owners, AND the further constraint that you are asking about people with "issues and how they were resolved between BMW and Dinan", do you really think your singular post will be the way to attract and collect data?
You could have 40 people (HIGHLY unlikely) respond with 'dinan tune, no issues' but to what end? What you really want to do is actively search for historical data on the internet (not just xoutpost) for these extremely rare events and how they were resolved. I can tell you that in my years of hanging on BMW forums, this specific issue has only come up a handful of times- and can be ugly to resolve. The benefit that Dinan has is that they have an insurance policy they can rely on, but if BMW and Dinan get into a pissing match, you are in the middle. But again at least you have Dinan and not some fly by night tuner who has nothing. A |

ARD, I'm not sure if you are purposefully being condescending, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt you are actually trying to be helpful. To answer your questions, I have posted on another forum and searched the net. Sometimes a word of mouth endorsement from a few satisfied/unsatisfied customers is better than any Dinan/BMW dealer propaganda or review from a automagazine.
"The benefit that Dinan has is that they have an insurance policy they can rely on, but if BMW and Dinan get into a pissing match, you are in the middle." I have brought this issue up before on another thread. |

^^ A bit of both I guess. Like I said, there is precious little data in the public domain of how Dinan and BWM apportion the warranty coverage.... so YMMV.

No worries. I'll see how I like my new X5 with its stock power until its broken in. If I feel the need, I'll splurge for the Dinan. I like Dinan not only for their warranty but also because BMW dealers install them, which gives me some comfort that the BMW dealer will back it up.
