Love the wheels too - however i'm frigging worried my wife is going to curb them with such 'low' profiles. she managed to do the same on the E53 now..

That gives you the ability to have a special media iphone cradle so you can have your phone connected and have music etc at the same time thru the iphone, otherwise you can only run the standard iphone cradle.

I think we are getting a little confused or I am, first off the y-cable connects into the USB socket which has RCA audio socket right beside it in the centre console box lower down on the inside front part closest to the gear stick, has nothing to do with cradle.

The cradle pushes into place on more the topside of the centre console when you left up the armrest/lid, you will see a plate that needs to removed before the cradle snaps in.

The Y-cable can be used on a iphone but its more for charging power for your phone (as it charges your Ipod), to make it more confusng my Y-cable suits the older ipods & iPhone 3. But this would be different on the newer models as one of the pins on later model was swapped I think.

At the end of the day you just need to test the what works and does'nt, I run the cable for my iPod and the cradle (media version) for my iPhone.

One end goes in the phone. The other ends goes to the USB port and the 3.5mm audio jack. You do not use the standard iPhone cable.

Used for charging, audio and control signals.

Have picked up the beast tonight and dropped off the trusty e53. Was sad to see it go & hope it goes to a good home!
Took it for a long drive tonight and really enjoying the ride in it - is definitely not as jiggly hard as the e53!
Trying to get use to the sound of the diesel as well!

I went for an '09 35d with all bells and whistles (US $75K msrp original sticker) ahead of base '10 for around same price. The idrive was not a deal breaker for me. I can't wait until I get it in a week. I bought the LCI LED tail lights so that's the first mod I will do when I get the car.
Enjoy your x5. Btw, those wheels look awesome. For me wheels and lights make the car.

What wheel did your come with? the 35d here is not that common and is much more expensive. 2010 model here come with the 8speed gearbox, which would have been nice, but Idrive + 8speed box was hard to swallow an additional 10k! Take pics when you get it!
