Diesel mileage - I'm impressed!

FWIW - I've been keeping track of my in town mileage and today my last 2 week average was 23.66. This is my daily drive to work (surface streets) and a couple runs to the ski hill as well (nothing over 40mph on that road; twisty windy road). Just hit 9,000 miles on my x35d and seems the engine just keeps getting better and better as it breaks in.

I hit 28.3 over 960 miles from Chicago to the south Carolina coast! I celebrated by having lunch at Chipotle in Spartanbug today.

This is a great vehicle. I averaged around 73 mph which is slow in this state!

I was looking forward to showing my freshly zymoled ride in its home town but no one gave it a second look
I only saw a new X3 on the SC highways and no E70 X5s-that surprises me. I would think a lot of SC people would be proud to drive these great locally built cars!

I rented (yes rented, from Avis) an X5 gas last week. Got 26 on the highway. Couldn't believe it.

I got 22 MPG on the highway over the weekend on my 4.8. I usually don't check since I do mostly city driving.

I was going about 70 MPH--all on highway. City, though, is pretty bad--but to be expected.
