Is CPO warranty same as Gold warranty?

My 08 E70 is a CPO. I was just wondering if the CPO 2 years or 100k miles warranty same as the GOLD waranty BMW selling? It covers everything except CD, A/C and NAV?

Thanks.

Ask ard. He knows all about it. I believe the gold covers maybe one or two things that CPO doesn't but they're both very close to being equal.

they are the same in terms of coverage.

Most people like to think of coverage in terms of "what item does it cover", but it isnt that simple...HOW the part fails will also play a role.

Plenty of info/posts on the specific language.... wear and tear excluded, finish, chrome, trim, etc... some rubber stuff also excluded.

But when a BMW dealer books the car in, the warranty code that tells them what coverage it has will be the same for CPO and Gold

Really? Thought the Gold covered literally one or two more things than CPO? Doesn't it cover navigation whereas CPO does not?

Here is a link to the brochure for the BMW warranties: http://cache.bmwusa.com/pdf_3927f5d4...2-dce774027bde

FYI: Platinum just covers the electronic stuff that Gold doesnt.

Here's a link to the CPO page: BMW Certified Pre-Owned - Warranty - BMW North America

And a link to the CPO brochure: BMW Certified Pre-Owned Brochure

None of these brochures are the ultimate documents of course.

As I said, from a service advisor I was told the warranty code is the same for the CPO and Gold plans

Also, if you parse these plan overviews, they exclude quite a lot- gaskets, hoses, etc. One interesting thing is the whole radio-iDrive-navigation system and "components"... IMO this can be one of those areas that gets hard to define. If you read the actual policy it is not much clearer either.

No disagreement there. I just provided them as a reference, not as a Bible.
