Need a little help to decide which MY to buy

I think we are now pretty much decied to buy an e70 35d from 2009 or 10. However, the last car we saw was an 09 and did not have the reverse camera. My wife really liked the RCam and birsdseye view on an '10 model we drove (didn't buy it cause it had a nasty interior color).

I have been reading a bit about retrofitting the RV Cam but I am getting more confused as it seems there was a big change from 09 to 10 but I can't figure out exactly what the change was. Before I go out and buy an 09 and then find I shoud have bought a 2010 I''d like to hear from you guys.

Why are there lots of references to LCI, what does it stand for and what were the changes?

LCI came for the 011 model year it's cosmetic for the most part, front facia rear tailights painted bumper covers are the most visual changes, no big deal but as always the newer the better rules should apply. Good luck.

The big change from 09 to 10 was newer iDrive system and screens. I'd go for 10+ model years, as that change brought significantly faster processor and response of that NAVI/Camera screen. It used to take many seconds (up 10) on my 2008 X5 for the camera to come up when I put car in reverse, now it is ~2 seconds on my 2011 (which has similar software & hardware as 2010 model)... So, if your wife really values camera (as she should for such size car), go only for 2010+ model.

We just drove a 2010 in Tysons. I was ready to make an offer but these guys just couldn't stop playing games. In the end I told them to stuff it and went home. Lame idiots!
