Observations
Took my car to the car wash a couple of weeks back, I had the sunroof open when I got there. I must have hit the close button twice because the car went in with the sunroof in the tilt position. A lot of water went in, but mostly tothe carperted area between the front seat rear seats. They dried it and I drove home with everything working. The following day, the idrive was dead. I could not input anything from there but the screen and voice commands were working. Took the car in to the dealer and this was repaired under warranty. (Would have cost $2k
) They had to reprogram the car so it could work with the new controller.I have observed that the car feels much better now and was wondering if they may have been a TSB out there to reprogram the X35i's. Maybe they ran this and did not let me know. Another observation, I am on the market for a 335i or S4 once my lease on my G37 runs out later this year. I have test driven both. The exhaust note on our X5s sounds much much better than the 335i. Has anyone observed this? I am leaning towards the 335i. |

With the newly installed software, your car is in learning mode. That is why it feels "better".
