Where is my ALL button for Climate?

My e92 LCI has a button labeled "All" that syncs the driver and passenger temperatures. The layout is slightly different in the e92 (and much more useful). I really get annoyed with having to set the temperature twice when 90% of the time its just me in the car.

the e92 climate also let me set it on Auto and still let me control intensity while the vents remained on auto.

Does the $81,000MSRP E70 really have less features than the $50,000MSRP E92? sometimes I feel I took one step forward and two steps back.

Has this been fixed with coding? (I know e92 coding allowed you to change the ALL button to Residual Heat)

For starters which E70 model do you have. I have a Pre-LCI (2009 model) and it does not have the "All" button on the climate control. I'm not sure if any of the Post LCI models do. I'm sure someone will let us know.

My E70 has this function.

My sister's 2012 1-Series has the "All" function in it's climate control, and her Satnav is way better than mine. It has a higher resolution (& better graphics) than what I get in my E70. This is just normal model development by any car manufacturer, but in particular the Germans. The newer model will most of the time get the improved electronics as these get improved through evolution of the feature and by customer demand.

The next X5 will also future cool touch pad in the iDrive. So far the lower models (ie. 1 & 3 series) don't have these features, but I'm sure it won't be long before these features and functions will trickle down to these models (and possibly with improvements).

Here's a question for you...If you can get better features and equipment for the same cost (or even less), wouldn't you fit that into the car instead? I'm sure this is what BMW comes across everytime.

Push the auto button multiple times to cycle through soft/medium/intense.

The hvac controls annoy me too. It's part and parcel of BMW though - great engineering, mediocre to terrible UI for their software and secondary controls. They really need to steal some UI developers from Apple.

I fixed it for you

My e70 is a 2011 LCI, my e92 was a 2011 LCI... so same model years, but the 3 series makes more sense ergonomically.

I did just remember that I can adjust fan speeds with the auto "soft/medium/intensive"... but again the 3 is better because I can adjust 5 speeds with it (not to mention the AC is just much better in the 3).

I did notice that residual heat is still functional in the e70 at least.
