I pulled the trigger on some new 20" Bridgestone Dueler RFTs

Discount Tire was running a special this weekend of $100 off on a set of 4 tires. I have the Dunlop Sport Maxx with 21K miles on them---I was down to 3/32 on the fronts so probably could have gone a couple thousand more miles but decided to just go ahead. Plus they also gave me $50 credit on my right rear which was new from last weekend replaced under BMW Tire Warranty. I could have e-bay'd it but looked like $200 was the going price and I didn't want to deal with shipping it, etc. No DTs in the country have them in stock so they are ordering from Bridgestone. I will post a review once I've driven on them.

Just took advantage of the DiscountTire rebate as well, I have the Bridgestone Duelers RFTs on right now with just under 3k on them. I think they ride great for a runflat but they'll be next to worthless as soon as we get our first snowfall in Oct.

I tried ordering the Conti DWS's but apparently the rears are on back order with no production date scheduled, so I ordered the Michelin Latitude Tour HPs instead. Apparently the 315s are brand new in that line, so I guess we'll see how they do.

Also, I noticed on Bridgestone's site they are running a promo until Sep 30th--buy any qualifying set of tires (Dueler's are listed) and get a $75 AMEX car or a new Nintendo Wii. The $100 Visa gift card for this weekend is a Discount Tire only rebate so I believe I should be able to get both. I think I might do the Wii ha.

Good luck with yours !! I am actually getting rid of mine. At 22k they are extremely loud and very harsh. Took the car in last week thinking I had a bad wheel bearing just to find out, it was the tires. Going for the non RFT Conti DWS this time around.

Ok, so I have had the Duelers for about a week now with mixed city/highway driving. Keep in mind it's hard to compare tires that are worn vs. brand new ones as the it's not apples to apples (like when you go from old running shoes to new). I had no issues in the Dunlops and got 22K miles out of them and could have gotten a few thousand more. I did notice a little smoother ride with the Duelers and grip on turns is pretty close to the Dunlops. Obviously, this makes sense since the Dunlops are a softer compound and more aggressive tread pattern. So, all in all, the Duelers seem like a very good compromise between handling, smoothness and durability (have a higher treadwear rating than the Dunlops so I expect to get 35K miles out of them).

Just bought them and installed them last weeks.
We'll see how it goes, but up to now, do love the handling and driving comfort.
I don't think I'll sacrifice the RTF advantage over a little more comfort.
Using it daily and crossing bridges without shoulders, wouldn't want to completely destroy the wheels.

Should have stuck with the dunlops, the bridgestones don't handle as well. But if you saved a few dollars that would offset the difference.

It's more than a few hundred dollars difference--$1,200 for the Bridgestone's and $2,400 for the Dunlops---twice as much. And the X5M uses the Bridgestone's---I'm pretty sure they hold their own .

I had the Dunlops and now have the Bridgestones (both summer RFT). I don't notice any difference. I can't say I "pushing the handling capabilities of the X5 though"...
