trunk trim removal

Doing a amplifier install, need a quick tip on how to remove the TRIM CLIP that holds the panel in on the drivers side (USA).
It is the side panel over the wheel arch in front of the access door/flap that covers the commbox area in the left rear of the truck.
It is one of the round clips but has a different feel at the back, and doesn't lift easily with the trim removal tools.
