Low Speed Vibrating Issue?

I've been experiencing this issue for several months and the dealer is having trouble duplicating it. I may have to ride along with my tech to show them. I was wondering if anyone here has experienced the same issue and can let me know what was done to fix it.

When I'm in stop-and-go traffic or driving through a parking lot and let off of the accelerator to come to a stop, the RPMs go very low (below 500) and the car vibrates and almost shuts off. Then it recovers. It does this continually when I'm in the above situations.

Anyone else have the same issue?

Any electronics on during this? Such as AC? Do you have air suspension? Perhaps there's a leak and the compressor is on constantly, thus causing a draw? Perhaps your battery is going, or alternator?

Just spitballing. Can't tell for sure. It could be the fuel delivery system, could be the ignition/spark.

The X threw an engine light over the weekend, so it's currently at the dealer. I'm hoping it's for this issue, as it has gotten worse over the past few weeks.

ICV was/is a very common problem in E36's with VERY similar symptoms. Perhaps it's just dirty.

Good luck OP!

The engine light was triggered because of this issue. They replaced the pulse wheel for camshaft sensor.

I am having a similar intermittent occurrence with my 2009 X6 50i and can never get it to duplicate for the tech. It only happens intermittently and has not set any codes yet but am just concerned for what it may be in indicator for.
