Got Another Nail In My Tire. And Another Tire Warranty Claim.

Noticed another nail in my rear tire yesterday. So, this is now the 4th tire in 2 years I will be getting replaced under the BMW Tire Protection warranty. I just had one last month in the Dunlop Sport Maxx RFTs---I just got the Bridgestone Duelers on Labor Day weekend as the Dunlops were getting worn at 21K miles. One of the downsides of living in Dallas where the economy is good: new construction means more nails in the road ha.

We got the warranty as well the other day. I was hoping to hear people have good luck with it and not getting BS from BMW when repairs are needed.

I usually can never be convinced to buy a warranty, but for some reason I figure I will come out ahead on this with our bent wheel/ flat tire history.

I'm afraid to comment on this for fear of upsetting the nail in tire gods.

FYI: it doesn't cover if your wheel gets bent from a pothole--it's only when the tire itself is compromised by road debris ie nail, screws.

Good for you, BGM...but that tire is easily plug/patchable and that fix will last longer than the tread. But, good 'return'.

Wait, you paid???? How did they explain a cracked rim without any tire damage nor direct impact to the rim?

This smells like a factory defect.

I agree with ard. I had a cracked rim and the dealer replaced it under warranty. They told me it was common with the BMW 20's. There is an indy shop down the road from the BMW dealership here and I was in there with my wife's car and they told me that they do all the warranty work for the dealer and they have seen numerous cracked rims when checking for slow leaks under BMW warranty. They said it was a real problem with BMW and they were replacing lots of rims under warranty. Contact your dealer.

yeah... i got a nail in the tire once too... no warranty...

well... maybe it was not a nail... anyways - it cost me about $1000 US dollars... since the ONLY dealer in the country would not sell just one tire - he sold me two...
