BMW Alignment Specs

So my Dunlop RFT's only lasted me about 12k miles. I just got a set of Continental DWS. Love them. What a huge difference they make. I went to dealer today to get a alignment done b/c the rear tires have excessive negative camber. I told them I wanted the rears as straight as possible, even if its outside BMW specs. I am attaching the spec sheet for those of you interested. The target date is what bmw specs should be. Btw I have the 20" staggered style 214's.

Your problem was more likely the excessive toe that you had prior to adjustment. The good news is that they fixed it.

Agree with JCL.

Your issue was TOE!!! Not camber. People SEE the camber and decide "oh, that must be it" but it is undoubtbly the toe.

The didnt do a good job, IMO. The rear toe isnt symmetric, I'd want 0.01- 0.03 on each of the 4 wheels, balanced side to side. The closer to 0.01 you get the better the tire lifetime.

I expect you will get 20-25k out of these. Optimal alignment 30-40k

Aside from the crooked steering wheel, how's the handling?

99% of BMW drivers don't care and/or know about alignment numbers ...heck, most techs don't really know. So keep in mind that if the specs are important to you, and you want some number other than 'just anywhere in the green', then you should let them know- loud and clear- BEFORE they do the work.

The handling is great. I don't really notice a big difference from the rear wheels being a bit negative before. I just drove 500 miles this weekend to and from GA. Ride was smooth and the new Continental DWS were amazing!
