Did you cross shop the X5 with the Cayenne

Looking into getting a pre-owned X5 4.8i 2008-2009, have also been checking the price of pre-owned Cayenne. The Cayenne do cost a little more for the same model year but I do like the interior better that the BMW. I have not had the chance to drive one(the Cayenne) being that there no used one's with in my price range locally.

I know that this is a BMW site but what is your opinion of the Cayenne.

Thanks

I did...

but, seeing the Cayenne looks like a previous model of KIA turns me off, plus all the option added (as the with similar packaged with X5), the pricing differentiation is really noticeable.....

however, to each its own...

I was looking at Cayennes when i was on the market for a car a few months ago, I never really liked the looks of it, but i was told by a trusted mechanic that Cayennes are a lot more reliable then X5... His shop normally sees Cayennes for regular maintenance, whereas they see a lot of X5s with a tonn of issues going through their shop...
I drove one, i can't say i was very impressed... Yes it's a great vehicle and handles nice, but it could not win me over from an X5...

I felt that the luxury feel was more "there" with the Cayenne than the X5, and that the Cayenne S' V8 was more peppy than the 4.8 in the X5. However, the price difference really turned me off and I preferred the exterior of the X5.

Now, new Cayenne vs new X5? I think I'd give the Cayenne a second look.

I actually love the x5 interior. perfect balance of simple and clean vs. luxury. but neither interiors are deal breakers. for me it was the bang for buck factor that brought me to BMW and 2 mins into the test drive I was sold.

I like the Cayenne but can't stomach the price difference. If money wasn't an object, I'd probably own one. But for value, I prefer the X5.
