Yeah, I'm a bit confused about ard's comment as well. Perhaps he's referring to the minor gap between the flare and the door? Are they OE, meaning from the factory? Or did you install them yourself?

I know they are OE. Look at the Porsche- sculpted with the body, integrated, sexy...now look at the X5- angular, screwed on... you have the plane of the body, and then a part line and the flare angles out at 45degrees from the body....that's what I mean.

Im not talking about the OPs specific example, just to be clear.
