Broken Emergency Brake Button

Anyone have their electronic brake button snap off?

I use mine every time I park. Good thing I did because I discovered it had a defect and failed to release the brake 3-4 times. It works perfectly now.

But the button is plastic and it snapped off one day.

I paid for the 5th year warranty so it was partially covered. The brake button assembly costs $70.00 and a half hour labor to replace it.

Had mine replaced about 2 months ago, also a 2007 with 32k miles. It broke exactly in the same place. Part was about $70 online + installation.

"Partially Covered"???

I wasn't aware that there was a warranty that covers 'part' of a claim...

Or did they double dip- fix it under warranty AND get some extra $$ from you?

Geez, that's a pretty cheap/shoddy job by whatever supplier in SC supplies that button assembly.

I am outside the 4 year warranty. I am in the extra year warranty and this item was not fully covered by the insurance. I saved some money but not much.
