X5 35i Premium dynolicious chart

Hello, in case you are interested I recorded this run last night. No fancy launch techniques just floored it

Hopefully I can do better but not a bad run for a first attempt

6.8s, that's an official number for diesel.. The app may not be that accurate though..

Well if you consider the other trucks in this test the 6.8 is not too bad. The professionals do fancy tricks with the launch but I only floored it, nothing fancy.

That 35i is wearing staggered summers, I can't catch that one.

I will try again when it warms up a bit

Well, you do lose half a second due to turbo lag (or transmission lag, who knows) if you just floor it. Both 35i and 35d have that issue.
You should do better than 6.5 if you hold the brakes, rev up to 3K rpm, release brakes and floor it. The good old trick. Not too often though!

I think a more accurate way to measure acceleration is a simple smartphone video recording.
Depending on video player application, allows to know exact millisecond movement started and when speedometer hits 60.

You are right, there is at least one second when you floor it and absolutely nothing happens, it's so frustrating. However I am pleased the X5 matches the other cars when they are using aggressive launches and I used the worst launch. Lol. I will try the 3k method and use the app and the recording method too.

Well, you would want to do your best against behemoths like Escalade and Sequoia. Those have official 0-60 times in lower 6 seconds.
I would think twice about going against them with my diesel. Not big chances to win.

The official tests for the 35i match those two so I would have to launch it the right way. Given its size that's an impressive time for the Escalade, that thing is a house on wheels

House is the right word. Hauls a##, enters a corner and tips over
