Brembo makes OEM BMW calipers!

I remember reading in another thread awhile ago that Brembo actually made OEM BMW Calipers but I couldn't confirm it via google search. So armed with a camera, I decided to investigate around the back of the caliper and lo and behold, Brembo is stamped on the back of the front caliper.

I thought I could contribute to the online world who are searching "Are BMW X5M caliper made by Brembo?".....Yes.....yes they are.

I wonder why BMW decided to leave Brembo logo off the front of the caliper? Seems like a good selling point to me.

Here are the pics to prove:

The "M" Brakes... Anyway.

I noticed that on my recent brake upgrade as well.
Don't believe they have any involvement in those other than for the "M".

Brembo is an OEM supplier. My 2004 base-model Touareg had Italian-made Brembos as well.

In general, the fixed multi-piston calipers are supplied by Brembo to BMW. The E31 8 Series from the early '90's also had the 4-pot Brembo calipers.
They also supply other car manufacturers too for their higher end sports cars and sedans (e.g. Cadillac CTS-V). Brembo sure makes quality brake systems.
