Oil Cooler Pipe Leaking (w/ Pics)

Hey guys,

A relative asked me to look at her X5 because she's getting oil leaking out in the wheel well. Turns out it's coming from the oil cooler inlet pipe (17227578659) so I'm going to have to order one of these to replace it. I searched around and haven't found any information about this job, doesn't seem like a very common problem. Has anyone else had this happen? Any tips for doing the job? I can't tell where the pipe goes in on the engine side, is that hard to get at?

Any help is greatly appreciated, here are some pictures for reference.

Alex
