LED Angel Eyes

Just thought I would try another one. Different resistor. My last one was pretty good and these are even brighter still. At night it's amazing. During the day it's not too bad. This is a semi cloudy shot. Very white. No greenish or bluish cast.

20W Crees

Now to rig the resistors for the LED fogs.

blue dragon will become famous soon enough
They look as good as you will get with the pre-lci headlights. I still don't like the eyeball effect of the inner rings being brighter and illuminating the projector inside the ring. I am jealous that you live in a no front plate state.....
X5 looks agressive with no front plate

I would get so many tickets if I lived in a state with front plate requirements.

Yeah the inner brighter than outer is a little annoying. Not sure if it is worth the Orion V4's to be installed. I might pull out the dremel or have my friend at the body shop open them up. Probably do them to my M5 before my X5 though.

Helped my friend put LED Angel eyes on his E92 M3 not long ago and experiencing the same innter brighter than outer thing. I think it's the way how the LED light is being projected, the inner one it's project onto the ring from behind and the outer one the light is being 'directed' by the ring's material....(I think the best way to solve this is make the ring out of LED bulbs, which will offer an more uniformed light output)

But they look awesome! And I love the Aero kit front you have on your X5

Thanks Nardo. You are right the optics for the lights starts from the inner to the outer. In the updated LED lights BMW used separate LEDs to drive each ring. They were supposed to sell a kit to convert the older ones but never did. The only to achieve the new look in older headlights is Orion V4's. which require some headlight surgery. Which most won't do.

The new LEDs I put in are the brightest I have seen. I know about the other "premium" brands people use and I give this a brighter rating. I have used both. The new resistor is what is helping out the output. In person it is really incredible better than what pictures can achieve. I might do a mirror lockup and take a picture to capture the light if I have time today.

Sunshine soon and hopefully i can get some good shots of the X5.

another possible solution would be to completely paint or tint the inner "projector" looking cap that way no light shines thru allowing only the ring to be visible, since the inner one does not have any purpose it would not affect anything by painting/covering up

makes sense?

Aren't hi beams in the inner rings on pre-LCI? If not, yeah, paint them over!
LCI got a plastic cup there.

+1.
Look better than yellow stock. Do these throw any codes?
What color is flashing when you use turn signal?
I am looking (wishing) for a way to have the turn signals be white when headlights are on, but flash yellow when using turn signal.
