Looking for help on upgrading non-lci rear bumper to lci

2010 e70

Gathering the parts to upgrade rear bumper from non-lci to lci

I've found instructions here on how to remove the rear bumper http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...a-removal.html but have yet to find instructions on removing the rear quarters and surrounding to then install the painted LCI bumper onto.

Specifically this piece and the one on the other side:

If anyone has any links, instructions for the DIYer to swap in swap out these pieces please post

Thx!

I had body shop did it for me. Do you have 30i or 50i? If you have 50i i think the exhaust tips don't fit on the LCI bumper. They are different shape.

I've got the 30i - however I'm having the 50i tips installed
I've got the 50i bumper ordered to allow for this adaptation of the different tips.

I may have to break down and do the autobody approach - DIY doesn't look too feasible I'm afraid

I'm in the process of removing my e70 X5 LCI 50i rear bumper to install a trailer hitch.

Just finished battling that section of the bumper, around the wheel well for the last 2 hours. Not easy, but once you know what you're doing it's doable. VERY DELICATE! I broke 2 tabs, despite my best effort to be as careful as possible. Trick is NOT to just pull on the panels, or you will deform them permanently!!

Here's a pic of the tab I broke just under the rear tail light ... broke the one on the right, too!!

Basora, the ideal thing is both back pilots remove first and then the bumper, this way the eyelashes are seen perfectly. Podrias to put photos of the back lateral supports, to see if they are like those of the pre. Thank you.

Could you explain again?

"Back pilots" means rear taillights?

Muchos Gracias!

To remove these panels, you have to undo back parts of the rear arches, remove corner reflectors, tail lights, and then 3 or 4 screws. Then first pull the rear part of the panel, then the sides. They are flexible enough to come out easy.

BMW E70 x5 4 8 Chrome Oval Exhaust Tips New Set | eBay

First link is the LCI 50 rear bumper exhaust tip. Second is pre LCI 4.8i exhaust tip. Notice different shapes, unless you can get LCI 50 tips install. I was told it is not feasible, and does not look right even with body shop.
