Anyone Upgrade Old Idrive to New on 09 X5?

Anyone Upgrade Old Idrive to New on 09 X5?

Someone told me this was possible and not that expensive, Can anyone tell me where I can get the parts and get it installed. I have the Disc based GPS, I wanted to get the new HD base GPS, and the Idrive with the buttons. Is this possible and not tooo much money?

Good luck ... I am trying replace my basic seat with a multi-contour comfort seat and are running into all sorts of issues because everything on the car is linked or connected to the central bus (computer) system. I can't even imagine what's involved in replacing one I-drive for another ...!

Yes, I did it as well. apw2607 helped me with some of the cabling from the rear camera and the DVD changer where wires have to be moved in the harness (or emulation harness). Its not cheap, and I slowly coupled the parts together from ebay and recyclers. If you can't code, you will need to pay for coding as well.

More or less the price, and I can't code, include that in it too.

Is there someone in NYC who can help me

Thanks

About $3500 if you buy from a vendor. About $1800 - $2000 if you piece the parts from ebay and score deals (that price includes PnP harness for the combox, activation module, and any help coding).

Vendors
BMW retrofits, coding and software updates - BimmerTech
