that dealership will charge you a premium... lol... look at his neighbors - maseratti, ferrari, aston martin... lol...

check Exceline (i think i got the name right), they are on fullerton in springfield/newington... there is another shop within stone throw, with similar name, but that one is body shop - not sure if the two are related to each other...

Did a google search, went to a BMW dealer to get my oil changed in Chicago (Motor Werks Barrington) and they only charged me like 80-90 $ for an oil change, their inspection was free.

My point is go online and search for the highest rated dealer in a reasonable distance and make sure ppl are saying excellent things about the service dept.

Our X3 holds the same amount of oil. I had a $120 service out of the free maintenance period, at the dealer. I was doing them myself for much less but now live in a condo where I can't work on it. Replaced the original battery for $130 or so a few weeks ago, myself, in a parking lot. 30% more battery capacity than original.

Seven years, and the original brakes have lots of life left. Overall, ownership costs have been very low.

I also didnt get a brake replacement under warranty because I drive so many highway miles. God knows what that will cost.

Anybody that thinks these are reasonable maintenance expenses is insane. As good as these cars drive, I will never own another. Might lease one. Maybe. I'm getting an Accord for my daily driver.
I'm sorry, I was going to post a reply yesterday but I'm just now picking myself up from the floor.

You paid $500 for an oil change?

If need a battery, will check wal mart or auto zone. Something will
fit a BMW and not be a BMW battery. Programming, ??? when my
335i would go dead for not driving, just put a charger on it a good to
go. Never too it in.

Yep, especially considering we have at least 5 BMW dealerships here in DC area; most of them having special deals & coupons for common stuff like oil changes, brake flushes, etc etc.
