Ard; do you know what the issue was or did you get a code for the fix? I'm attaching some videos. Hopefully someone can help me out since the dealer can't.

What engine is it? Why don't you do some basic troubleshooting? At the very least, you should be able to point at a specific part of the engine or whatever area the sound comes from.
It may very well be the sound diesels ocasionally make - some process related to emissions. Or it could be airbag pump. The video does not tell us anything.. |

It's a 3.5i and if I could pin point the part I wouldn't be on here asking and probably be fixed; that's why I stated at the beginning of this post when the issue arises (powering up and powering down). I'm not a mechanic but thanks any way for the pointers and giving me the opportunity to be a smart ass.

Had time to film 3 separate videos, but no opportunity to check what area of the vehicle the sound comes from.
I guess your expectation from this forum is for someone to detect the frequency and nature of the sound from the video, and tell you exactly what's wrong, along with part #? |

Sounds like the air compressor for the suspension. Do you have active suspension?
Mine does this occaisionaly but not every time I start the X |
