quarter in the center console

Guys, a quarter has made its way into my center console and rolls back and forth when accelerating and braking.

How do I take the console apart without breaking anything?

I would use the vacuum cleaner to get that out if my tools wouldn't work.

Subscribed. I have the same thing...drives me nuts! I can't figure out where change could get inside. It rolls perfectly forward and backward so there has to be a track it is in.

Do a search, this has been discussed before here or one of the other BMW X5 forums. It's really not hard, but I would sugest you use a trim removal tools rather than a screwdriver as not to damage anything. It also hepls to know the yer and model, there was an iDrive controller change that the removal is different depending on what year or if the iDrive need to be removed at all.

I would just trade the car in and let the next guy figure it out

This was helpful, removed the center console trim around the gearshift and idrive, now need to move forward to remove the tray that holds the cigarette lighter socket, since it has shorted and needs replacing --

has anyone taken this further ?

Thanks in advance ...

Dave.
