e70 sunroof don't open

Hi,

I just bought a '08 x5.
It is in perfect condition except the sunroof.
When i got the car, the computer showed this error
"sliding sunroof anti-trap function".
I reset the sunroof by holding the button but while performing the reset cycle, the sunroof didn't fully open, the glass tilted and opened for around 15 cm and closed again, the blind didn't move at all.
The error now has disappeared but the sunroof still don't open.

I would appreciate if anyone could help, the dealership is a lot km away.

Thanks

Maybe use the manual sunroof tool from the the tailgate tool set. Hand crank it open/closed a few times to see if it gets it sliding.

I just tried to operate the sunroof manually.
The glass is opening, the blind doesnt move.
With the glass open, i connected the motor and tried to close it, but it moved only for about 15cm. I moved the glass manually again for a little, reconnected the motor, the glass moved only for 15cm again and stoped.
Any ideas? You think is something with the motor or the cassette of the sunfroof?

you have to replace the whole cassette. mine is at the dealership now getting it replaced, they've had it for a week.

Oh no... I'm afraid mine is in the same predicament. Initialization of the moonroof does nothing.
