new here..picked up a preowned 2012 50i

Hey guys,

New here, just picked up my first X5.. love the car..

most cars I've owned are Porsches/Audis.. but this would be my 4th BMW, had an e60M5,335i and 530i.. probably some of you know me from other forums..cause I am an official caraholic..lol

the car is a preowned 2012 X5 50i w/ premium sound,premium package and 3rd row..
first mod will be H&R,extended rear flare, 20's.. not sure I want 22's i've had techart 22s on my old Cayenne, but that one has air suspension/pasm so its bearable
are there a lot of people running HR/rear links with 22's? or are everyone using KW V3?

Alex

Very nice! Congrats to the new sled.

Flares front and rear please + wheels please ASAP.

FYI, I have a set 21" Style 128 in my garage for sale.

it's amazing the 50i beasts come looking so unsporty. 20s would be perfect for it.

Great looking X5. I have 20's now on my 4.8 Sport and thought of going to 22's like you mentioned. Now with the 20's on the 4.8 if you noticed there is a staggered look because of the tire being able to be matched different width and approximately same circumference (front and rear).
I hear that apparently if you go to 22's you no longer can have staggered wheels, in other words both front and rear tires will be the same width.
Have you arrived at this conclusion yet?
Can someone else shine a light on this; possibly someone rolling on 22's?

Good Luck.

50i's don't usually come with those running boards. Did you add them? I personally prefer the narrower ones and was thinking of replacing mine with the 50i version.

Don't forget to slap one of Terry's tunes in there. Best $350 you will ever spend.

yup guys I know i need wheels bad..lol
i'm still not sure if I like the extended flares..i'm planning on going with black
wheels... I saw an x5 with replica X6m wheels, didnt have the extended flares and it looks fine maybe because it was lowered... thinking of the HRE flow forms, BBS SV, Avant garde 550 not sure yet.. then HR front springs..

Yup will do soon Steve, actually saw your thread on xbimmers when searching for tune... been a member there since 07.. i will probably spend the money on better wheels.. and just go Terry's tune plus megan racing exhaust if they ever make the right one..

I just put on 20 inch black Rohana wheels and staggered them. They are wider on all four corners so the extended wheel arches help keep dirt and rocks off the paint. I think it improves the look, especially from behind, but that is a personal preference of course.
