Rear Shock Satellite Replacement??

I have the EDC Electronic Damping Control malfunction message so I read the codes and it is pointing to the "satellite" that controls and is mounted to the rear left shock. Does anyone know if you can change this without changing the shock?

I have an appointment at the dealer on Wednesday and I just want to know what I'm talking about before I get there and they try and bullshit me.

My Google and forum research is not paying off on this one.

This should increase you knowledge about the tech. The second link is an Xoutpost link.

I appreciate the reply and I've read everything and anything I can read on the system. Problem is, nowhere is it clear if the satellite can be replaced. I've read the Xoutpost link you provided at least 10 times and some of the posters say they had "sensors" replaced. What sensors? Ride height or did they mean the shock satellites? It's an old post or I would have asked there.

Then if you go to RealOEM.com, the diagram of the shock doesn't even show or list the satellite on the shock where it should be yet I can't find a separate part # or picture of it. Very confusing. Hopefully the service rep will give it to me honestly.

Thanks for replying and posting the links.

Ask at least 3 dealers.

I seem to recall that it is one unit (shock+satellite). Someone had a bad one, but since it was part of a "shock" and shocks were not covered by the warranty it cost $$$. Just my recollection.
