2013 X5 TPMS - Split Year

Does anyone knows the part numbers or model number for 2013 X5 TPMS as I was told by the SA that 2013 TPMS is a "split year". or it's a


I bought a used OEM 215 21" wheels (for summer) with TPMS from e-bay for my 2013 X5 (built 6/2013) and it supposed to be from a 2013 X5 with 500 miles on it. I have it installed from a tire shop (Les Schwab) where I bought the tires, but it will not reset and I was told that the sensors need to be registered thru the (s)tealership. So, I went in hope that's all I need to do. I was told that the sensors are not good and it's an old TPMS - huh? What to do!!!! The SA said that 2013 BMW TPMS is a "split" year and the one installed is the early version! Does anyone knows about the 2013 TPMS early and current TPMS part number? It'll cost $90/tire + $30 installation. Or, I can look for an indy shop to try (do they have the ability?) to "register" the one that is on the wheels now for $55/hr. Thanks..

Real OEM doesn't show different part numbers that year, but they do list two distinct pages of parts for the tire pressure monitoring system, depending on whether the vehicle has option code S2VBA, which is labelled Tire Pressure Display. It is shown in conjunction with Canadian models. One could imagine that the coding would be different with and without that option.

It may be that Realoem is inaccurate and there are two part numbers. Ask the dealer to give you the part number, and compare it to that shown in realoem.

when i put my 2014 wheels on i had to get new tpms and never ran into this! just buy them from tire rack

Will that TPMS part number show up when it's check/read by the dealers and SA share it?
I did not get to write down the TPMS that was in the OEM wheels before the tires where installed.
Can any indy do something like this or it's BMW dealer exclusive programming only.

The dealer should be asked to save the old parts. If they sell you the same part number you should ask why. Who knows what is actually in there.

I told the SA to go ahead for the sensors but I want to "old" sensors when it gets pulled out (sell them in e-bay?). For some force of nature he did not have the "correct sensors in stock that day. So, I'll be going back when the sensors comes in.
I wonder if he'll let me observe during removal and installation, so I can see it on my own eyes if

I have been asking around and finding ways to get a clear answers. Indy shop can't do it, tire shops told me that I have to take it to the dealer to get it "registered in the iDrive. system. So, I went and as I expected the SA came with the story that the sensors for 2013 X5 is "split"year and I need new 2013 sensors. The cost is $90/sensor and $30/wheels to dismantle and install new sensors, a total of $516+tx. I feel that I am about to feel "" if I go with it.

I called the BMW Dealer parts department and ask for the TPMS part number for my vehicle. He asked for the last 7 digits of my VIN and gave me this #36106856227. This is not showing in the realOEM.com. I will just pick up the sensors and use a $200 voucher from them to cover the cost. I called the tire shop where I purchased the tires and offered to swap sensors at no charge. This should be all I need for the idrive to reset and solve the TPMS malfunction message.
Or, will the BMW SA will tell me that they still need to be registered?
