02 Simulator?
seen a remus full exhaust on Bimmian for $1231, says it will throw a CEL.. my stock cats need to be replaced and i figured instead of putting stock ones back on it would probably cost the same to get an aftermarket exhaust but i know the cat 02 is going to throw a code my E46 was the same but i was able to purchase an 02 sim and ran that without problems.. dont see any 02 sims for E70 tho |

Where is chwk? Federal warranty on cats. What makes you think your cats are bad?

Chwk is in BC, Canada
we have done away with emissions.. i was getting bank 1 and 2 cat failure errors so i brought it to a trusted Euro mechanic and he said both cats are going to need to be replaced.. the x5 is at 188k km's too so would love to make the upgrade only reason i worry about having a CEL light on is.. i hate error/dash lights being on to begin with, even when i see the gas icon pop up, plus if i wanna sell it in the future no one is going to buy it with an engine light on on that note i'd love to find out if there's an 02 sim or a spark plug non fouler.. if anyone with aftermarket exhaust could chime in |

Hmm. Ive run hundreds of thousands of miles on CATs with no failures. Plenty of cat codes usually related to rich running causing the cats to be overwhelmed....so you fix the actual problem and the cat codes go away. Did this trusted euro guy explain the odds of two cats failing simultaneously? But I can see you REALLY want to replace the with nothing- so lets hope someone chimes in. |

the euro mech said it could also be my pcv valve because i should be replacing it soon but my warranty only cover the valve cover but not parts attached to it so he recommended waiting to the engine light came back on |
