i used the trim rings and added quad tips.
cutting that area in the bumper was quite interesting due to the concave area. ![]() the ebay link you posted, the first picture is of the OEM retro kit, the actual tips that person is selling are oval NOT trapazoidal like OEM. |

I have a few styles available...
I have these 3 sets available. They must be welded on. You may need to cut your bumper (except for the OEM 50i stainless tips). My muffler shop did it really easily and the cut is not noticeable (plastic bumper).

I see you're upgrading a lot of items on your X5 that came standard on the M Sport and/or 50i - bigger wheels, fender arches, M sport steering wheel, these exhaust tips… Just wondering if you ever considered buying a Sport or M Sport to begin with?

First off great observation on your part! Not be snippy or a smart ass... ![]() We all know that X5 is not a very popular car and once you start the process to get an X5 we quickly notice that there aren't many available with our wish list. So when I began this process I came across a GREAT deal that I couldn't pass up... Low miles, not my favorite exterior color but I didn't hate either, all the bells and whistles like rear DVD system, and every option available EXCEPT MSport. I am BMW enthusiast and really like the MSport add ons for all models. BMW X5 e70 MSport package has 20" wheels (BMW Style 214 my favorite), extended wheels arches, MSport Steering wheel, and sport seats please correct me if I am missing something. After getting the X5 I made a "to do list" to get her to MSport status. I started doing my research and I decided that I could do everything myself just like what I did to my e90. My BMW e90 MSport AW was a non-M3 and again I appreciate all the M3 components from body styling to handling. I do aspire one day to own an M3 but I am not there yet... So on my e90 I did all the mods myself like M3 suspension, M3 wheels, M3 stance, and exterior mods like front bumper and rear spoiler. So after constructing my "to do list" I went to work in finding the components that I needed to make her MSport and within 2 weeks of owning my X5 I found great deal that again I could not pass up. As you can probably tell by now I like working on my cars. So I found wheels on craigslist BMW style 214 OEM from an X6 which I had to bore them out to correct specs to get them on the hub, then I found a seller on here for the arches, and my last item that I am currently hunting for is the steering wheel. I made myself a promise that I will ALWAYS have a BMW sport steering wheel... Its just one of those must haves for me. Thank you everyone for the GREAT input on here, this is one best forums I have been on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by e70msportmia; 10-21-2014 at 12:37 PM. |
