Center console vibration
So yesterday I was driving and all of a sudden I started hearing a loud vibration below the center console. It was under the cigarette lighter area! It would only occur while driving. It wasn't your average sound but more annoying and loud. Took it to BMW and they said my transmission cable became loose which was causing the vibration.
How does a transmission cable get loose? Last edited by eurogreek1; 12-10-2014 at 01:05 PM. |

There is not even a transmission cable at these cars. The shift lever has no physical connection to the transmission.

Lol good response! That's what they told me at the dealer. They wrote that on my invoice! What is directly under the console closer to the cigarette lighter area?

The manual release for the transmission is right there. Does it have a cable? Probably..

Not much stuff under the console. My guess is the driveshafthad some kind of problem and they tried to hide it,or they have a different meaning for "cable".But I usually know these "BWM language" words.
