X5 e70 LCI Base Audio no sound from driver side

Hello Forum,

Recently I noticed that I have NO sound whatsoever coming from the front driver side speaker. I went into the idrive and directed all sound to that speaker and NO sound.

I looked online and can't find an answer to what this might be. Has anyone had the same experience??? I have read that others encountered a same issue but there has been no follow up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

After you replaced the speakers,it is either the wires or the amplifier itself. On the base audio the amp is built in the head unit.Best way to test it to pull it out, find which are the wires for that speaker and connect a small speaker to see if a signal goes out of the headunit.

Thanks for your post.

Actually I had the issue before I replaced the speakers, and I thought it would have just started working by with the new connections.

So you are saying to pull out the head unit and test the wires from that point. Is the head unit removal very hard? Can screw anything up? Thanks,

I dont remember exactly, but you have to pull the trims around the HU and it is held by 4 screws. Should be 20-30 mins job first time,5 mins second.
