3rd brake light wiring
Hi, I'm looking for access to the positive wire running up the the 3rd brake light. I'm putting a stobe module for the light. I've searched and haven't found the color code on the wire or a good spot to splice into it. I've done the mod on a couple of 325ixt's and my Z4 M roadster. The two wagons were easy to find on the right side above the battery area. The roadster I put the module behind the light in the trunk lid. Great safety device. I get them from "superbrightleds.com".

You can actually code this easily to flicker on hard braking without installing any module incase you weren't aware of

Led 3rd Brake light stobe module
I've been using the module from www.superbrightleds.com. They are around $6, if I remember correctly. They strobe at a fairly fast rate for about two seconds and then go solid. They are very effective in getting your attention. I've put one on a classic mini and three on various BMW's all with led lights. Had one fail, in that it would strobe and then just go dark. Replaced and all is well.
I've found the wiring going up to the rear door, but was hoping to get the color code to make life a lot easier, as there must be over 30 wires heading that direction. Thanks, Mike PS - Just bought the car in Atlanta and am driving back to Seattle area visiting friends and family. It was 18F when I got in the car one morning...
