Coding CIC to work wtih Sirius Sat Radio

Anybody know if this possible to get CIC unit that only had DAB radio option to code and connect to get working Sirius Radio ?

I was able to code the CIC unit to show Sat Radio option and connected the fiber optic cables in to the trunk to most-bus. Still after all this my CIC do not recognize the Sat Radio unit. ( Do not display ESP unit # )

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can either enable the built in tuner, you will need an FSC enabling code to do this. Or, you can code the external tuner and use that. When I did my retro, I already had a working external tuner, so I never enabled the built in tuner in the CIC. That would have cost additional money. I do lose things like instant playback etc with the external tuner

I am was able to complete most of CCC to CIC Swap on my own on 08 E70 but stock on getting Sitirus radio to work. I got sat radio to show up on the menu and connect fiber cables but may of screw up FCS coding or something else . This my first BMW ;-). Would you say if I got sat radio option to show up in the menu then FCS was programed correctly ?

Did you have satellite radio with your CCC? If yes, the in the CIC, there is a line that says SDARS, you need to change that to external.

If you never had satellite radio, then you need to contact one of the vendors (bimmer-tech, bimmerretrofit) who can generate an FSC code and import it to your CIC. Then you will be able to enable the satellite radio portion of the CIC

I think its around $300 but it comes with 1 year subscription free. I highly doubt that you can find someone to do it for you in NY. The dealer can do it too, but they charge more I believe.

I'm not sure I understand, you have the external tuner? Of you are saying the tuner built into your CIC has one year subscription? If the CIC already had satellite radio activated at some point, you won't need an FSC code. You just need to code the CIC with your vehicle order (FA), and be sure to add the code for Satellite radio.

Then you will have it as an option, and if the subscription is valid, it will work. If not, you will be able to access the weather/preview channel only

He won't have a internal sat radio tuner since he's got the uk DAB version Of the cic. Cics only contain either the DAB tuner or Sirius but not both. He will need to code for external sat radio.

Assume op you'll have the sat version of the shark fin and an external sat radio ?

Was this version of the CIC specific to the UK? The NA versions have a dab and sat radio tuner, and from what I remember the UK version of DAB was incompatible with the NA dab broadcast.
