EGR Cooler replaced

Done yesterday on the 40d, all under recall. BMW's approach has gone from 'inspect and replace if necessary' to 'replace'.

The local dealer has around 80 new EGR coolers waiting for customers right now. They are inspecting EGR valves and replacing these if they are 'coked up'.

I talked about glycol / coolant consumption and there's an informal agreement to keep an eye on this and bring the car back if it gets coolant thirsty (given that the coolant system has been interrupted).

I also got the piece of paper to say that the recall was done. I've not had these in the past, it's probably a big enough deal that customers are being handed something to prove the remedy.
