X6 has competition from Audi

Audi is planning a crossover-coupe to rival the much-rumored BMW X6, according to Germany's Auto Zeitung magazine. BMW has essentially acknowledged plans for the X6, which could be unveiled in concept form in the coming months. Audi's vehicle will bear the Q6 badge, according to the report. It's unclear when - if ever - such a vehicle be shown.

What exactly is a crossover-coupe? The Volkswagen Concept A is probably the closest vehicle to the X6 or Q6 we've seen. These vehicles could come as two- or four-door. While VW doesn't plan to build the Concept A, it provides a glimpse of this emerging segment. Many observers wonder if a market for such a vehicle exists, but BMW seems convinced one does.

It could be an optical illusion, but there doesn't look like there's a lot of headroom in the Q6.

The more I see this type of vehicle, the more they remind me of the audi Allroad quattro. I hope bmw does a better job with the desing of the X6.
