Nice - I was going to say that it's SC that it's probably an employee right? I haven't been keepin up with the info - but when is the release date? VERY NICE SAC!!

I'm deciding when the time comes if i'm going to get the e70 or e71.. we'll see..

Meiac09, I discovered about the time that the 2nd Gen X5 was in prototype testing,a local neighborhood that contained a high percentage of BMW employees.I found camo'ed up X5's parked in the driveways. When I saw this X6 in traffic,I figured it was time to troll my favorite "Prototype" neighborhood.Sure enought,I went to one of the houses that I had seen X5's,and there sat the X6 in the driveway! Thanks. Palbay

Great shots!

I think the X6 looks fairly good, but I think the e70 X5 looks much better. I guess I am having a hard time with this SAC thing. Not a coupe, not an X5 either. I don't really see it as the best of both worlds. IMHO I sort of see it as a less attractive X5 with less storage space or an unpractical top heavy coupe. For those who are drooling over this thing, what is your motivation to own such a vehicle? Just curious.

They should have called it the X5ti.

those wheels look so small on both the black X6s... they should come with 21 or 22 to fill the arches better... of course the ride quality would suffer but it sure would look better.

Why do they even bother covering up the badge? It's on a BMW truck with quite a few other BMWs around it. Not to mention that it has more than a passing family resemblance.

BTW, I don't think that picture is wide enough.

I'm drooling over it because it takes away everything I don't need from an X5, while maintaining everything I do.

I see it as a either a sportier, better handling, better looking X5

OR

A coupe with higher seating position, better visibility and better road presence.

It still has a ton of space (more than my E53 X5 has), I rarely ever have four other people in my car... it's simply perfect.

What about a 535xi? Better handling, faster acceleration (than X6 in 6-cylinder form), all-wheel drive, probably better fuel economy, and more cargo space. The only thing you would be missing from the X6 is road presence/visibility. That may be too important to you to give up though.

The X6 may "technically" have more cargo space than your e53, but do you really think you can fit larger items in the X6 than your e53 in the real world? That sloping roofline doesn't seem like it would allow larger items to fit in and the hatch to close.

I think BMW is trying to stake claim to a new segment of vehicles with the X6, but I think the Infinity FX could be classified as a SAC and it has been around for a while now.
