X6 on the lot

I took my X5 in for servicing at BMW of Sterling in northern Virginia last night and there was a new X6 on the lot. I snapped a few pics with my phone (hence the shotty quality) but I figured I'd share them with the community anyhow.
It looks like a track truck to me... Not bad looking, just too car-like for my tastes. I buy big cars for the interior room, and with that sloping rear end, I think my dog would be less than comfy.

yep, it's ugly.

Although I have to say, if you had used a non-phone camera, and it was daylight, then it would look...

oh, who am I kidding....it would still look ugly.

Your black X5 looks 10 times better. I keep hearing some of us X5 folks justifying the X6 by saying "pics don't do it justice" or "it's really starting to grow on me". Puh-leeeze. If a car has to "grow on you", that is NOT a ringing endorsement.

I view the X6 as a waste of a perfectly good Twin Turbo engine. Throw that Twin Turbo V8 into an X5 body, and THEN we'll have a winner. Until that happens I am steering WAY clear of this....of this...monstrosity.

BMW is going to appeal to a very narrow niche with the X6. I just haven't quite figured out what that niche is.

I passed by Open Road today to top off my oil and they had a Tasman one in the showroom. The color is nice in person. My salesguy is off today. Tomorrow I will kick him for not calling me as soon as it came in and then I'll take it for a spin.

I ABSOLUTELY HATED the E53 when they first came out. I thought it looked like a blown up roller skate/bubble. My opinion OBVIOUSLY changed.

FWIW I still intensely dislike (I'm a lover not a hater )the E70. It will always look like a jacked up X3 to me......and I think that the X3 is possibly one of the fugliest looking SU(A)V's out there.

....just my opinion.............and it hasn't changed from day 1

The dealer had two on the lot today... one with sport and 20" wheels.......

I liked it better in person... This one was the red color which def looked better than the graphite grey. The rear window is a little difficult to see out of. The 3.0TT seems a little quicker and more responsive than the 4.8 in the x5. It also felt a little lighter on its feet. I also drove the 135 coupe ...... wow what a blast....

It might be just me but the X6 I just don't get it. I mean its a SUV, has no room in the back and the back seat only sits 2 people.

Here in Australia we get the twin turbo diesel sports X5, has bigger brakes than the V8 X5 and 600nm of torque with double the fuel economy of the V8 as well.

I would buy the X5 over the X6 as it has more to offer, if I want a sports car I buy a sports car. I don't see myself moving from a X5 to a X6.
