8.35min around the 'Ring..

I had to smile when I read about the X6's ring lap time in the press material yesterday. BMW were comparing it with the Maserati 3200GT and claiming that the X6 was 2 seconds faster around the infamous 'Ring. Priceless, just what I need it for..

We're aiming to upload a video and first drive of the X6 to our site next Monday, and just trying to sort out a deal to keep an X6 at the office for a few days next week. Meanwhile mine has arrived in the country but I can't take delivery until 31st May when the official customer launch is run.

p.s. I am delighted to say that I now have an official X6 model on my desk, compliments of BMW's press launch. And it's Vermilion Red too..

Well I suppose 'technically' speaking I ordered the twin-turbo six cylinder, although diesel (35d) rather than petrol (35i).

BMW will be keeping my car locked away for two weeks whilst we wait for the customer launch, unless I can persuade them otherwise. , but we're trying to sort one of the press cars to be in our hands next week when we can do a more comprehensive review and let the rest of our team drive it.
