VR 50i w/ Leather Dash - TTV8 Real MPG Confirmed By BMW Engineer

Hey guys I'm going to need to do this in two post. One Exterior and one Interior.Found this VR 50i w/ leather dash and Style 214 Y Spoke wheels. This is a non-US model.I don't recognize the language on the side view mirror.I don't know if you can get the Y Spoke wheels on a US 50i model. The X6 brochure says you can't.However,I've seen some 50i models on car haulers w/ Y Spoke wheels.Still like the Y Spoke wheels best of all the OEM wheels BMW offers on the X6.While I was taking pic's an older restored 5 Series pulls up in the stall right next to the X6.One of those "OH S t" moments.A guy hops out and says...don't mind me I just gotta get a broom out of the X6.Anyway this guy is an engineer at the plant and the 50i I was taking pictures of is his normal daily driver/test car.He raves about all things X6.He said however....the biggest surprise on the 50i X6 is the real world gas mileage the car gets.He said he has been driving this X6 for about 2 months. He said he is getting 18-19 MPG City and 23-24 MPG Interstate. He said he does drive "Sprited". I pushed back a little and said he was kidding me.He said he was dead serious.....confirmed by the onboard computer and him checking the old fashion way:miles driven divided by gallons used!!!!! He said the "buzz" about the 50i will be the fantastic gas mileage the TTV8 gets.In fact he said the TTV8 will get better mileage than the TTI6 in the 35i.All I can say is the TTV8 is a "Super Engine" if it does all this stuff this engineer said.Thought you would want to know about this conversation I had today. Thanks! PalBay

Oh, and I think I heard the new 7-series using V8TT also has similar mileage numbers you mentioned.

But I also heard that V8TT has some 'turbo lag' unlike the I6TT.

Nope just a hobby. But some of my pic's ended up in some places that I did not put them. Now if someone post the pic's w/o my knowledge,at least they are credited to me.Thanks! PalBay
