2010 X6 5.0 Active Steering Option

Just thought I would let anyone who has not yet ordered their intended X6 5.0 with sports package (don't know about 3.5) that the active steering is amazing. I went with the option mainly because the sales manager at my dealer has been racing BMW's for years, and felt that the active steering would really help handling. Well, he was right on the money. Even with my 19" Michelin rft's (I did the sports package but without the 20" performance tires), this machine handles far better than a 2009 X6 5.0 (with 20" Dunlop performance rft's) that I drove at another dealer. Contrary to what many people have been saying online, the active steering option does not take steering feel away. What it does, is keep steering feel consistent at all speeds. It also makes a huge difference in high speed fast lane changes, etc. Just my take on the issue.
