Style 258 wheels

Does anyone know if it is possible to get Style 258 wheels and tires on an XDrive50i without ordering either of the sport packages?

I would imagine it's possible. You'd have to buy them. Maybe the dealer can trade them out for you.

Did you try building your own on bmwusa and see if they let you select the wheels.

Won't let me do it. Basically I want everything in the sport package BUT shadowline trim and the anthracite headliner. Now that adaptive drive is uncoupled form the sport package and available as a stand alone option, I can do it, except for the wheels. I don't care for the dark headliner (esp. with sand beige) and I really prefer the chrome window surrounds. I think the tire sizes are the same on wheel style 258 and 257 (std. on non-sport, and I am not a fan of them), so I would only need to buy a new set of wheels, if they won't let me switch them out. Probably around $500 each, but that's a guess.

Dream machine: X6 xDrive50i; deep sea blue; sand beige perforated leather; dark wood; premium; active vent. seat pkg; premium sound; cold weather; adaptive drive; comfort access; smartphone int.; soft-close doors; satellite; auto high beams; rear view camera; space saver tire; illuminated door sills. No rear climate because of the privacy glass. I guess I just like the airiness of the greenhouse without tinted glass, shadowline trim or anthracite headliner. And, of course, Style 258 wheels.

I'm confused. You ARE getting the adaptive drive, right? If so, you get the 258s. Did I misunderstand?

The 257s are the same size as the 258s

The 258's are part of the two sport pkgs (one with and one without adaptive drive); they do not come with the stand alone adaptive drive option (new for 2010) which can be ordered (for $3,500) without the sport pkg.

Also, when I build the car exactly as I described in the earlier post, it still has the 257 wheels.
