Head-up display question!

I was wondering what the pros and cons of having it were. I'm kinda torn as to adding it to my order or not. I've never had it before so I guess I can live without it, but was wondering if anyone has any regrets for getting it or not getting it. Is it a distraction of driving at all? Thanks everyone.

cmyX6go will become famous soon enough
I test drove an X6 that had it and I hated it. I thought it was distracting, so I did not order it. When I did the performance center delivery, the X6 I drove there had it, and I was fine with it. The display was lower on the windshield and was not constantly in my sights. I'm guessing it had to do with my seat position.

I suggest you go test drive one with it.

There aren't any X6's in any of the dealerships here that have the feature, so I can't test drive. My concern is because I have a compulsive disorder for having things out of place, it would distract the heck out of me. It already bothers me when they put the state inspection sticker and county sticker on the inside lower middle part of our windshield. If it is not aligned, has a gap in between the two stickers or not straight with each other, I'll get fixated with that while driving. It drives me freakin NUTS until I fix it of course! Then life is good again.

Sorry. We all have issues, don't we?

Curious... Does it have the infra-red night vision like Cadillac?

Too bad, that would definitely make it worth having.

HUD is my favorite option on the vehicle and I will not purchase any other BMW without it. For everyone that says it is distracting that is BS. If you don't like it or don't want it on then hit the button and turn it off. It does not always have to be on. Also, it is very convenient to not even have to look down at the speedo and with navigation it is very useful because the directions are displayed and you can keep looking straight ahead without ever looking down at the Nav screen.

I love Heads up Display!
It comes in use when driving at higher speeds, or when using navigation. I am in Dubai, and we have speed cameras every mile so it helps me keep my speed at the limit when I reach a camera.

I would recommend it to everyone.

I have it on mine and I love it.
Take a test drive with one, and one without.

Mine has it and I thought I could really do without it. But after having it I dont think I would order another one without it. I like it because how I adjust the steering wheel and seat i cannot see the top of the speedo so this constantly tells me the speed im traveling. I love it. I compare it to comfort access, if you never had it you'd never miss it but when you do have it its a must have.

I really think HUD is a safety feature for watching speed. In an M thats improtant for me at least.
