do you have any pictures of it installed?
|
I think I had to remove small "ribs" from the door to close it but it closed perfectly.

How does the sub sound? I have the 8" BSW sub in mine and it leaves me wanting. :(
I think I have no choice but to go 12"... the size I've had in all previous vehicles. |
It sounded good. What amp are you running? I have a 300 watt Alpine mono.
|
I'm running the Bav Sound amp that comes with the kit. 250w RMS I think is what it is rated at according to their website. Not nearly as good as their e46 m3 kit I've installed before but then again I haven't spent a lot of time tuning it yet. Just don't think I am going to get the cleanliness I am after.

I had a Pioneer 8000NEX & then a Kenwood DNX 892HD, they both sounded very good.

The main problem I'm having is isolating certain frequencies from the BSW setup as it handles some frequencies excellently and others like total @$$. :dunno: There seems to be no way to tune it using the DSP, amp, and LOC that maintains the frequencies I want and ditches the ones I don't from reaching the sub. I've run a JL12W0v2 and been very happy with it... but that was running a full aftermarket setup. I am trying to avoid going full aftermarket on the X5 as ripping out the DSP system would suck royally. How were you running your setup? Full aftermarket? Base system? DSP? Sorry just trying to get an accurate expectation of SQ output. SPL is nice, but I prefer SQ. As an ex-installer, I could build my own box and all that jazz... but I don't have the time I used to with the little one here. ;) EDIT: NM, looked up those models and they are both head units. Yeah sub output and head unit Xovers makes tuning MUCH easier. I am not familiar with the DSP system and how it manipulates the signal that the LOC is using and then how to further manipulate it without affecting the other speakers. Ugh.:( |
No worries, happy to help. I have the dsp system & had the cd/radio in the back hooked up to dvd changer connections to keep the amps on & the aftermarket HU in the dash.
It is the first time I have not gone full aftermarket because it sounded good. |
