SOLD - DINAN Cold Air Intake System - BRAND NEW
 

A couple weeks ago I picked up a brand new E53 DINAN cold air intake system. I am still on the fence about selling it but I may be going a different direction with the vehicle. Put this out more as a feeler to see who may be interested in it. PM me offers, worst thing I can say is no.

Again, brand new, no longer available from DINAN. Instructions say its for 4.4 and 4.6iS

I'm interested, but have no idea of the value in order to make an offer. What did it cost originally?

Not sure what the original MSRP was, but it is DINAN so a few hundred bucks. One currently listed on eBay right now for $750 but it's a used one.

Come on man put this in your X5. You have an IS and its so deserving of this. There are no drawbacks. I love the one on my IS

I doubt it, sorry I should've specified in the original post that it's for E53 X5's (4.4, 4.6, 4.8)

I fail to understand "cold air system" when you install it you are disconnecting the original air scoop which takes in cold air from the front of the grill and putting in a cone filter which draws hot air in from under the hood ????

Not 100% positive. The manual only lists 4.4 and 4.6. Maybe someone else can chime in

It's sealed (mostly) from the underhood heat. It pulls in cold air from the fender well area cutouts.

FWIW, I have a Dinan CAI installed on my 4.8is... not sure if it's the same part number as pictured here though.

The Dinan system includes a cold air box. The cone filter is in the box keeping the engine heat away from the intake tube. The system increases the volume and velocity of incoming air. Dinan printed gains have always been conservative. The 4.4 gain is 13HP and 12TQ. The 4.6 is 14HP and 11TQ. To reach these numbers you need the matched engine software which further increases performance gains as do the Dinan MAF and throttle body if you can find them. With the above components plus the free flow exhaust the total gain on the 4.4 is from 282HP to 321. The torque increases from 335 to 350. The 4.6 from 340 to 369 and 371 to 382.

I would check with Dinan to be sure.
