I need some help... Administrators/Anybody.. UPDATED!!! Got Money Back!!!

UPDATE! Paypal Claim Ended in my favor and I was refunded the $300 I Paid for the set of snow tires and rims. I'm very happy i got my money back but this was all a major pain in the ass. This is the second time something like this has happened to me and i have now lost a lot confidence. I know 95% of the sellers are honest and good but there are some bad apples out there. Anyways I just wanted to thank the members who gave me any info and help.
Thanks
Krunk Man

I bought the wheels from e53fanatic, I sent him payment on Monday as promised via paypal(were both verified). Since that i have not heard a word from him. I've sent emails, private messages, and i have not recieved any responses. He promised Shipment on tuesday and an email with tracking numbers, but i have not received anything. He says hes sold rims to 2 other members, i private messaged both of them but they havent gotten back to me yet.
What should i do?

Heres the Link to the original post for the sale of the set.

Start an dispute with paypal, they are great about this stuff!

Wait a few more days. Be patient. Paypal will do its job though. Things do come up. I was supposed to go to a BBQ but got hit by a drunk driver in the daytime.

When I use PayPal I always have the funds directed from a credit card rather than my bank account. That way if PayPal doesn't give me help in a dispute then I always have recourse through my credit card company (payment protection is usually pretty standard on most credit cards).

As was suggested above, be patient for a few days before taking action. Unforseen things do happen to people that are out of their control, so give him the benefit of the doubt before panicing.

I agree with replies above. ^

I assume he's not a retailer so don't expect the same "customer service" as a real retailer.

His profile says he was on the board last night at 7PM so he should have read your PM. Did you PM him with read confirmation?

Krunk Man 06-01-2006 04:44 PM

yes i have the pm confirmation and there all unread.

Still sitting in the dark. I will wait till the middle of next week and then i think im going to file a report.

What i dont like about all of this is we had really good communication before the sale(private messages sent back and forth for a couple days). As soon as i sent the money, he disappeared.

Not sure if this is a good idea or not, but if it is not too much trouble, maybe make it policy for any sale that goes on here requires a phone call first with the exchange of each others phone numbers. Much easier to get a hold of someone with a phone number. And we all know how text can sometimes be taken out of context. Plus, if something did happen like a family emergency or something along those lines, there might be someone who can clear it up... ie; "sorry he/she had to rush out of town for whatever reason"

Just a thought.

They may rule in your favor, but they will only refund your money if they can recover it from the seller's account; if not, you're SOL. Plus, they drag on their so-called investigations forever, most likely on purpose so that you exceed your Credit Card's dispute timeframe. Whenever I have a problem like this, I don't even bother filing dispute with PayPal - I go straight to my Credit Card and get much better service and faster results.
