2003 Hologen headlights
 

I have a set of Hologen headlights from my 2003 3.0 X5, used for one year, upgraded to xenon's. PERFECT working condition.

Will They Fit On A 2001 Model.......rscott

I believe that they will, but before you make your final decision I would check with the dealer. I did some reseach and it supported my believe.

Does anyone know if I could pick these up and gut them for an Xenon Retrofit?

You're better off just buying Xenon headlights. It'll save you money and time in the end.

How do you buy Xenon headlights to upgrade regular hallogen ones?

From what I understand, you need the following:

• Pre-facelift Headlight Enclosures with projectors
• HID Balast / Ignighters
• HID Bulbs
• Some sort of resister that keeps the headlight out light off on the dash instrumentation

I'm currently sourcing all the needed items to do the upgrade. You can purchase some enclosures from e-bay that are non-OEM. Doesn't sound as though anyone has taken that step yet. There are also several vendors that sell the rest of the HID kit that includes the balasts, bulbs, etc.

What about these? I saw them on Ebay and seem to do the upgrade we both are talking about although they are non OEM?
