Well, as much as I hate to do this. I have decided to sell my beloved X5. I want to go without a car payment for a few months & just drive my Jeep G. C. for work and for pleasure both and then get a sport sedan of some kind in the Spring.
Here is the description and pics:

Color - Steel Gray Metallic with Gray leather interior
Options - 100% Options (Roof rails, smoker's package, center armrest, in-dash CD player, hi-fi sound system, CD holder, full-size spare tire; COLD WEATHER PACKAGE - ski bag, heated front seats, retractable headlight washers; PREMIUM PACKAGE - body colored door handles, glass moonroof, power front seats, rear seat back adjustment, rain sensor and auto headlight, automatic air conditioning, on-board computer; REAR CLIMATE PACKAGE - rear sunshades, rear passenger temp control, privacy glass.
Automatic transmission
ADJUSTABLE RIDE HEIGHT - VERY RARE on a 3.0i
SLIDING LOAD FLOOR
DARK WOOD TRIM
LUMBAR SUPPORT
XENON HEADLIGHTS
BMW OEM Tow Hitch

Aftermarket extended warranty that is transferable to buyer
BMW EXTENDED MAINTENANCE WARRANTY until 11/30/2007 or 100,000 miles that is transferable to buyer also.

I bought this X5 on July 23, 2005 with 63,500 miles on it. It now has 71,352. I have only put 7,852 miles on it since July 23, 2005. I only drive it when it is nice outside. The windshield wipers have only been used 1 time in this time period. I keep this car immaculate at all times and garaged. I have never babied a car like this before - even my BLACK ///M3 !

List of mods I have done:
1. OEM Style 87 wheels added 12/05 - only 2,500 miles on them. Still could pass as brand new. ($4,000 MSRP - I paid $3,760 + tax from dealer)
2. OEM Titanium Hood Grilles
3. OEM Titanium Liftgate Handle
3. OEM Chrome Exhaust Tips
4. OEM White Sidemarkers
5. OEM White Tail Lights (with stealth bulbs - no yellow showing)
6. OEM White 3rd Brake Light (with red LED's when on)
7. OEM Rubber All-Weather Floormats
8. 2006 Sport Steering Wheel
9. DINAN Stage 1 Engine Software Upgrade
10. DINAN Stage 1 Transmission Software Upgrade
11. Front Windows professionally tinted to match the rear privacy glass
12. K & N Air Filter

If I sell it with all mods - including the original wheels - I am asking $26,500.
If someone would like to talk numbers without some (or all) of the mods, I would be willing to put the original items back on, except the steering wheel and airbag. I paid $100 to have the 2006 Sport Wheel put on at my dealer.
Please feel free to call, e-mail, or PM me with any questions at any time concerning this vehicle. It is a very nice, well taken care of X5 and looks like there is 10,000 miles on it. It was sold locally here at Grayson BMW in Knoxville, TN and has always been here in Knoxville - VERY mild climate and an average of 1 snow per year. I am the 2nd owner of this X5. I have all manuals and paperwork for the warranties, receipts for my mods, etc.

very sweet ride!

BTW I thought that premium package comes with clear side and tails already, but after looking at the headlights I guess I was wrong.

Wow! Nice to see pics of a well done steel grey x5 w/ the Ti liftgate handle! Sad to hear you're selling it. Good luck with the sale, that is one X5 that shouldn't be hard to sell at all!!

ChristopherM3 12-07-2006 12:12 AM

Still for sale..............price is negotiable (and mods too).

Someone asked me about the wheels and tires. They are OEM bought from Grayson BMW here in Knoxville with a $4,000 MSRP. They sold them to me for $3,760 + tax + install. They could pass as brand new with no scuffs or marks at all. They both (wheels & tires) have approximately 3200-3500 miles on them so there is plenty of tread left.

Spread the word........

Thanks.

Man, I really want to retro-fit the air ride. Good luck with the sale bro. Anyway to have the engine/tranny software put on another vehicle, or is it embedded into the VIN like the shark injectors?

ChristopherM3 12-22-2006 04:06 PM

I have dropped the price to $25,500 with all the mods. I also have it listed on eBay. Here is the listing for more detail about the options & pics:

Also, remember.......if you would like to negotiate a price without some of the mods, please feel free to post here or send me a private message.

(as for the Dinan software, Dblock, I don't think this is transferrable to another vehicle. They just downloaded it from a little handheld computer into mine. I'm not 100% on that, but I don't think it could be.)

CM3,
Congrats on moving it, and at a decent price.
Stop by, and hold down the fort in the plains of
TN, until I get back to the Smokies in mid April!

Somebody got a very sweet deal on your X5, Chris. It should easily go for another 75-125K miles.

I have a gray interior also. What did you use to keep the leather clean? The Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner I've been using hasn't been doing the job.

ChristopherM3 01-01-2007 10:42 PM

md, that's when I want to go up to the Smokies too. That's a great time to go up there & stay for a few days for a nice little getaway. Being only 45 min. from Knoxville is great too.......
I think they got a good deal considering the shape that it's in and the things that I did to it.

Well, to tell you the truth, I never got my leather dirty. I had it since July 2005 and only drove it 8,600 miles in that time frame. I used a leather conditioner "wipe" one time on the seats and it did a great job. I can't remember the name of them though.
I got to stop thinking about this..........I'm so sad it's going to be gone next week.............:saad:
