Upgrade Your Brakes!!: 4.6is Brake Calipers

4.6is brake calipers, front and rear, for sale. You will notice quite a difference with the larger 4.6is brakes!! These really stop the X5 well!! The rotors for these calipers are vented as well which greatly improves heat dissipation.

Just 164 feet are required to bring the X5 with the 4.6is brakes to rest from 70 mph, beating a one-ton-lighter Porsche 911 Carrera (1999) by four feet!!!

The calipers are in excellent condition and I have treated them to a corrosion removal treatment. They will need caliper paint to protect them. It should be easy with only the rubber on the pistons to mask off. I would also buy new bleeder screws so as not to be worried about getting any paint on them.

The price is only $299 plus $59 for shipping!!

PM me with any questions!!

If you would like to have these powdercoated and rebuilt I can arrange to have them sent to NHT. They will be completely rebuilt and powdercoated in your choice of colors. Contact me for pricing information....

Can you get any callipers powder coated? I have my original 01 4.4s and was thinking of buying new ones because I wanted red - is NHT in FL?

If you have never experienced the stopping power of the huge 4.6is brakes let me just say "Wow!" these would be a fantastic upgrade for any 3.0 or 4.4!!!!!!

Are there any brackets required for this change from 4.4 brakes? 4.6 has larger front/back rotors, correct? How are the condition of the front rotors?

They should be a direct bolt on. The front rotors are in great condition. I have painted them with high heat paint to stave off corrosion.

4.6is
Front Rotors: 356mm
Back Rotors: 324mm

3.0/4/4
Front Rotors: 332mm
Back Rotors: 324mm

Both sets of rotors are wider for the 4.6is due to the venting and have a wider caliper to accomodate them.

OK First post here. I'm getting a 3.0i manual to tow my 95 M3 track car and trailer and would like to upgrade the brakes. I'll start searching to gather info but is this the least expensive option to upgrade the brakes? I plan on buying 19's. What is the size diff between rotors on the 3.0 and 4.4/6/8's? u have pm

I think you will find the aftermarket brakes are quite expensive and offer minimal performance characterisitc upgrades over the 4.6is brakes. Especially when you consider the $2,500 - $6,000 price tag for the alternatives.

If you want to really have these brakes look sharp I can have them powder coated the color of your choice and rebuilt for an additional cost.

I also have 4.6is, what did you replace your stock brakes with?

Thanks,
